Landa Eder is an international social impact management consultancy.
We assist our clients from the mining, renewables, infrastructure, industry and agroforestry sectors to identify and manage their social impact and to develop opportunities for sustainable benefit-sharing with stakeholders.
Landa Eder means “beautiful land” in the Basque language while our office is based in Brittany, France. The Basque Country and Brittany are two territories with strong identity. This is no coincidence. Whether we develop a stakeholder engagement plan for a mining project in France or we audit a cocoa plantation in Gabon, it is all about land, its men and women, its history and its future.
Our role is to help our client root their project in a territory by complying with best international social practice such as the International Finance Corporation (IFC – World Bank Group) social performance standards, incorporated in the Equator Principles. We assist project owners in identifying impacts and risks linked to their projects and we provide them with operational and pragmatic solutions to develop their project in a sustainable way.
We believe that only an approach integrating the complex and sometimes conflicting interests of host communities, local and national governments, environmental conservation and business can lead to a sustainable benefit for all parties.
Our expertise is based on solid knowledge of the financial and technical aspects of natural resources projects and on more than 15 years’ experience in assessing and managing social impacts.
